How did you find dKos?

Sun Jul 06, 2008 at 07:07:56 AM PDT

So here we all are.  But how did we get here?

After all, with some things in life, it is a relatively easy matter to find them, whether it be Hardball, or Sesame Street, or a can of Coca-Cola, or cannibals wearing deelyboppers.

All right then, maybe not the last one.  But then again, maybe not dKos either.  Although it's just my cup of tea when it comes to political websites, it was around for about 4 years before I found it, and even then it was by accident.

So follow me over the fold for my story, and please tell me yours in the comments.

So there I was, pootling about on the netz, reading for myself some fine alternate history, engaged as I was at the time in reading the works of Harry Turtledove*.

*In particular his Timeline-191 series of novels, in which the Confederate States win the 'War Of Secession' and much non-hilarity ensues.  But I digress.

So I fed 'confederate victory theory' into teh Google, and got this cartoon from the site of the estimable August J. Pollak.

I found it acutely hilarious and perused the rest of his work, and at the end decided to check out his links.  Digby was one.  So was Glenn Greenwald.  And so was . . .

And here I am.  That's my story.  What's yours?
