ACTION Diary - NEW YORKERS for Impeachment - Updated

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8TH, 2007 - 6:00 PM
DEMONSTRATION FOR CONGRESSIONAL ACTION TO IMPEACH BUSH & CHENEY
AT TAVERN ON THE GREEN (CENTRAL PARK WEST & W.67TH STREET)

This Wednesday evening, most likely the entire NY Congressional Delegation will attend a fund-raiser birthday party for Congressman Charlie Rangel.

Senator Hillary Clinton will be a "special guest", and even national treasure Aretha Franklin will be attending.

It's time for us to demand R-E-S-P-E-C-T from our Congressional Representatives and demand that they represent the people of NY and take action to end the Iraq war funding or move forward on the Impeachment of Bush & Cheney.

This protest is being organized by members OF PDA NY 14th CD chapter and several other activist groups working for impeachment.

Special Note for New Yorkers in CD 8:  if you haven't already, please vote in this poll on impeachment/censure.  I have posted this poll in preparation for a meeting with Representative Nadler on impeachment.  Your help is very much appreciated.

Update from the organizer:

I spoke with the Commanding Officer of the Central Park Precinct.  He asked that our signs not have metal or wooden poles attached (cardboard OK).  They are setting up an area for us in the park within sight and sound of the people coming in to the party.
I've also requested a legal observer from the National Lawyers' Guild.
