it's the only chance they have of holding their seats in Congress. The people have woken up, and noticed that their money is gone, their house is gone, their job is gone, and the Rs stole their kidney.
And they don't have health insurance...
I think things are going to get really bloody this fall...

I've always felt that any constructive effort toward impeachment would have to be initiated by the Republicans themselves. Hooray for Dana (did I really just type that?) for speaking out - maybe it'll open the door for others to join in and we can finally see some progress. Repudiation needs to occur, but I feel you are spot on in thinking that Repub action is based on their knowledge that the Repub brand is down the shitter.
Thank you, Howard Dean

how any self-respecting congresscritter - of either party - could allow their authority to be usurped by the Administration. Had they no idea of the importance of their constitutional positions? Had they no pride? I had finally decided that they considered fealty to ideology (on the right) and fear of being called soft on national security (on the left) was more important to them than the duty they had sworn to, that is upholding the constitution.

that Dana has gone public, I find it dishonest that it's happening so late in Bush reign. How many thunks on the head did it have to take? This story is one of a huge list of criminal behavior. I see this as a political decision in an attempt to save the Republican party from itself. Though good may come, it should have happened much, much sooner.

These duly elected officials are afraid of, guess who... the voters.
And their fears are well grounded.
Congresspersons every 2 years; and, Presidents every 4 years; and, Senators every 6 years,
must win an election, OR THEY ARE OUT!
That is the whole point here. It's a democracy, AND THE PEOPLE ARE SPEAKING!
(apologies for the caps)
