I'd love to get this pattern covered. Maybe we can all brainstorm about how to do that. If Molly Ivins was still with us, I'd sent it to her.

I don't know who else we could get this to.
Undoubtedly, the Republicans will find ways to get this to whoever they need to get it to if she's our nominee, and it'll be another Al Gore "inventing the internet" narrative.*

It's a pattern now, she was married to the President and because she was married to him she suddenly makes claims that she's done all sorts of things just by being a wife!
It's all over in the news in Europe how she accompanied him to 'dinnfres' where she 'knew the names' of people old Bill was talking to but somehow that turns into FORIEGN expereince!

I really want that T-shirt! Someone talented (ie...not me), needs to turn this phrase into a youtube bit, but it needs to be great. Maybe Obama Girl wearing this shirt, refuting Hillary's over inflated resume, interspersed with clips of Yoko during the Beatle years?
Fortunately, Barack does have a license to go after Hillary in her area of perceived strength, her so called "Experience", without much risk of backlash. Why? Because the voters do want hope and a new kind of politics, but they don't want a wuss. She hurt him this time, with her "Experience" card, so he can call for her experience to be examined now. And as we know, that's one hell of a counter-punch.

as awful as it will be to go 6 & 1/2 weeks without a contest, maybe we need that time to pull back the curtain for the voters in Penn. See, that's the real problem for Hillary, only older white women are voting for Hillary, everyone else is voting nostalgia, for the 90's, which look damn good in the rear view mirror. That means they are really voting for Bill, or at best, "Billary". When they see things like Hillary on the stage with Kosovo they are going to realize she wasn't Bill, she was the First Lady.

The MSM is lazy and has been corrupted by its corporate owners, however if we deluge them with emails regarding this issue, they will cover it as they realize that a significant number of people already know it.
Additionally, if we each email this info to everyone we know, and blog it on the web, people will start to ask questions.

Hillary Falsely Claims Credit for Dodd’s Family and Medical Leave Act
Please distribute this information to the American public.
Hillary Clinton's campaign materials claim that she "helped pass the Family and Medical Leave Act." http://www.hillaryclinton.com/...
However, this legislation was passed only 16 days after Bill Clinton took office in January 1993. http://www.dol.gov/...
The FMLA was spearheaded by Chris Dodd and others during the George H.W. Bush administration, and was vetoed TWICE by Bush before Clinton took office. http://chrisdodd.com/...
Two weeks BEFORE Clinton took office, the Democratc Congress met to prioritize legislation VETOED by the first Bush administration. http://query.nytimes.com/...
Bill Clinton had campaigned in 1992 with a promise to SIGN (not draft) the already-drafted Family and Medical Leave Act. http://www.4president.org/...
The Family and Medical Leave Act, H.R.1 and S.1, was passed by the House on February 3 and by the Senate on February 4, 1993. While they had passed it twice before, because this was a new Congress, they needed to pass it again.
Hillary Clintons' supporters' talking points reinforce her misleading claim that she "helped pass the Family and Medical Leave Act." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...

How can these "journalists" yack about all that insider stuff when so many voters around the country are enraged at Hillary Clinton and her tactics?
I know it's not just us ... I checked. If you read MSM newsblogs and comments from all over about this race, you see that people are disgusted and really pissed off. Yet, on this program anyway, not a word about that was spoken.
I think, by her words and deeds this past couple of weeks, Hillary Clinton has destroyed herself. There's no doubt in my mind that if her commissars take over the nomination, against the will of the majority of the pledged delegates, the party will be broken for a generation.
People will not forgive her. They already don't forgive her.

Weren't the writers on strike? Maybe that accounts for it.
Oh, you thought only the fictional stuff is scripted ? Wrong. EVERYTHING, even the pauses, is in the script. "live" programs have a scroll at the bottom of the camera which the performers read. Given the time constraints, there's no other way to do it. There can be no pauses--no dead air.

The longer the Democrat's bicker, the happier the MSM. The Democratic party is really falling into a trap by letting this shit go on when the delegate count alone can't determine the nominee. Playing up Hillary's big "wins" enables the MSM to keep it going, as long as Americans are willing to believe it. Meanwhile, they are trashing both Democratic candidates while giving McCain the biggest pass of all. Come the GE, the MSM will hand it to McCain. I can't see any of those ass kissers really going after their beloved McCain, the great war hero. It would be considered anti American and you can count on many Americans buying into this bullshit. Ignoring Republican motivation against the HRC nomination is mind boggling. If the SD's pick Hillary, the MSM will take every opportunity to remind us of the dirt and divisivness of the Clinton years. No matter how effective people think Hillary might be as president, anyone who believes she can overcome the muddy Clinton history is delusional. There's also what we don't know but is certain to come out.
Each passing day increases my fears of a McCain win.

can help, as the MSM does pick up stories that get a lot of attention on the blogs. The diarist might want to change the name though, to attract their eyes. Something like "Hillary's falsely claims credit for Dodd's FMLA." A good catchy title works with them too!
And it does seem that Hillary did just that, claimed credit for something that Dodd had worked for years to get accomplished.
Maybe we could also e-mail Dodd and ask him to refute her claims as well.

this is just straight up deception. When people take credit for accomplishments on their resumes that they haven't achieved, they get dismissed.
The only other explanation for this behavior is that Hillary Clinton has fallen into the Republican ideology which equates the intention with the act. That is, there's an assumption that whatever one intends to do is as good as done. It's this kind of reasoning, btw, which justified the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Because there was evidence that Saddam Hussein had once intended to acquire a nuclear weapon, it seemed fair to conclude that he had one and act as if he did.
Come to think of it, this kind of reasoning is still being applied to Iran. The intent is taken for the act. But, how else are you going to apply the policy of preemption?
When you intend to bring democracy, democracy is brought. When you intend to feed the children, they are fed. It's in the Bible. God said "let there be light" and there was.

I watched for the first time the Sunday morning shows. I always thought the right wing whine about the media being in love with the Clintons was just made up as I don't watch much MSM as it is corporate business instead of news. However, I was amazed how much they hate Obama and love Hillary and the only think they like about McCain is how at times he is a little like Hillary... in other words the whole world is Clinton centric.
What I think is neat would be if Obama could win this thing with all and I really mean all, the Main Stream Media hating him.
I wondered why they did and then I realized it is that he thinks they are poor journalists (which they are) and not very bright. Which is true...Tweety et al are not very intelligent and know very little when it comes down to facts and figures about the polictical process. Her just is so much smarter than them and Hillary is not that smart... after all she did flunk her bar exam.
I hope Obama continues to win (they keep saying Hillary won Texas which is so untrue -- even they could say they split it or something but to give it a win to Hillary is a lie) these contests and goes ahead to win the Presidency as he will be one of the few who has done it without the ok from the MSM.

I think you nailed it -- once again, this goes well beyond spin and hype. This is patent phoniness. It evaporates upon scrutiny. Sen. Clinton should not traffic in such falsehoods. She's keeping her claim of vast experience over-inflated with hot air.
"I brought peace to Northern Ireland." "I negotiated the opening of the Macedonia/Kosovo borders." "I helped pass the Family and Medical Leave Act." No, Senator, you didn't. Stop blowing smoke up my butt.
by twcollier on Sun Mar 09, 2008 at 09:33:55 AM PDT
Some Irish poll has said the Senator's claim was a 'wee bit silly."
So, if that's accurate we might conclude that we're looking to elect a 'wee bit silly' commander-in-chief.
On the other hand, if Senator Clinton is correct, then we can conclude that having tea and crumpets is all it takes to make peace and Senator Obama's offer to actually sit and talk and negotiate might be a bit excessive. Though not naive. Just a bit wonkish to think that actual negotiation, rather than just having tea, would be required.
