She also bragged during the Chicago debate about her father having been a Bears' season-ticket holder in Soldier Field when she was growing up. Of course, the Bears played in Wrigley Field then...
If Obama can cultivate his "regular guy" image in this type of setting, it will really help him.

I couldn't find Hill. So, here's the next best thing
The "reality" is touchingly described by Sheehy on pages 109-10, where Hillary's Watergate committee chum Sara Ehrman drives her from Washington to Fayetteville, Arkansas, where Bill is teaching at the law school, so Hillary can be with him (but not, alas, live with him; local mores, don't you know). "He's just a country lawyer," Sheehy says Ehrman said. "Why are you doing this?" Hillary sat mute all the way, staring silently ahead. Finally, Fayetteville. A Saturday. Air filled "with the high-pitched sound of pigs in heat," which "the initiated" recognize as the rallying cry of the Arkansas Razorbacks ("Woo, pig, Suey!"--I happen to know), who were that very day playing archrival Texas.

"Animal House," Pigs Knuckle, Ark. After Park Ridge, Wellesley, and Yale, Fayetville/Little Rock had to be a major step down for her. Hell, Lou Holtz used to make fun of how isolated Fayetteville was when he coached there.
She put up w/ all of Bill's little dalliances. She got hammered on health care, she brought in Dick Morris, and she made herself do a score of other things that she would've preferred to have not done. It's her turn now, and she's not likely to give up until Obama has officially reached 2025 votes on the convention floor.

by SheLawyer on Thu Mar 20, 2008 at 11:29:41 AM PDT
He is very clear about that. I remember at one of his campaign events in Iowa last year, there was a couple in attendance who were sporting Cubs jerseys. Near the end of the Q&A, one of them asked Obama if he was a Cubs fan; Obama said, "Nope, sorry. I'm from the South Side, it's Sox all the way for me." (Saw this on C-Span.)
No pandering with this guy. I have a lot of respect for him on that one, even as I am a rock-solid Cubs fan.
