do we still have a Republic and a Constitution if our elected officials will not stand up for them on our behalf?

Isn't this refreshing? An e-mail simply stating the rules. Many people are confused about provisional balloting and believe their votes won't get counted.
But this e-mail goes further - YOU can use a REGULAR ballot even if you are challenged.
Here in KC we are already gearing up for our Election Protection effort for November. In 2004, we had 400 lawyers at the polls - I want to double that number.
Thanks for the update.

in a democracy. What is Obama thinking?
We all have these little information boxes in our homes. You have one too, I bet. It's about 2 feet high by 2 or 3 feet wide, and has buttons on the front. When you hit the "on" button, shiny images thrust forth.
Yet, none of these shiny images tells you a god damn thing about where to vote, when to vote, etc.
To quote Fats Domino........Ain't that a shame?

yesterday about our MD primary today. With slightly different info for our state.
Tomorrow is Primary Day in Maryland, and I'm writing to you with an important reminder to vote and to make sure that your family, friends, and neighbors get out and vote too. Use this online tool to find your polling location: http://my.barackobama.com/... When Michelle and I talked about my running for president, one of the core goals we both had for this campaign was to leave the political process better off than we found it. You have challenged conventional thinking and built a grassroots movement for change that is sweeping this country. I have no doubt that the election tomorrow will be close. It's vitally important that you vote and ensure that others who want change in this country vote too. Our work here will have a lasting impact in Maryland for a long time to come. I believe that this movement for change can do more than just win an election. Together, we can transform this country. Find your polling location and vote tomorrow: http://my.barackobama.com/... Thank you for being part of this, Barack P.S. -- Here are a few guidelines and rules that should make Primary Day go smoothly. Make sure to share these with your friends: Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Anyone in line at 8:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote. If for any reason your eligibility to vote is questioned, you have the right to vote with a provisional ballot. All registered Democrats are entitled to vote in the Democratic Primary. Registered 17-year-olds may vote in the primary if they will be 18 years old on or before November 4, 2008. For a ride to the polls or if you have questions about your polling location or voting status, call the Obama MD Voter Hotline: 301-587-RIDE (7433).

My last visit to the polls (voting for Webb, I think) they were asking people if they wanted a paper ballot (op scan) or did they want to use the electronic voting machine. I laughed.
I'm down south of you in congressional district 1. We're quite purple down here despite this being supposed Repub territory. It will be interesting to see how it goes. The only signs around here are for Huckabee. No Obama or Clinton at all.
Haven't voted yet today, will let ya know how it goes!
