It is a way that every American can protest. Quietly. Every day.
If there are a million dollar bills in circulation with George Washington saying "Impeach", if a cartoon baloon saying "Impeach Me" comes out of the back of a million White Houses on the back of a million $20 bills, maybe someone, somewhere will get the message.
But probably not since Congressmen use credit cards.

magic with the first picture here? Say, something along the lines to "Bush announces his final solution"?

thanks so so much for this on point diary!! i wrote one this morning asking people to contact their reps, Conyers, the Judiciary Committee members, and Pelosi. It slipped right down the page. We need your voice. Mille gracias! If I was in Mexico with you, it'd be chelas all around.
by conchita on Wed Jan 16, 2008 at 01:37:25 PM PDT
Is something good, I assume. I read your diary conchita and gave you a tip. I will be contacting my rep Pelosi (oh yeah, I know, good luck with that), and any others I can. I'll also be participating in the fund raising scheduled for Friday, the 18th.
I don't ever want to wonder what might have happened if we had all tried just a little bit harder, yell just a little bit louder, and been willing to keep it up until they relented.

There's nothing on the Wexler web site to indicate he's raising funds for anything but his re-election campaign. i.e. He's not raising funds to put an ad on the air nationally to gather support for impeachment - although, I admit that would be the BEST kind of ad I could ever hope to see on TV, but I suspect it would have to come from a 527, not a candidate for office. If you have any info to the contrary, I take back my point of clarification, but I just don't want anyone upset when ads do not appear, since the "Contributions" page to which you linked doesn't say anything about impeachment ads, but only has disclaimers about campaign contributions.
Otherwise, wonderful diary, and I hope Wexler soon signs H. Res. 333 and/or Wexler, Baldwin, Gutierrez, and ME's Michaud who has (separate from the other three) recently called for impeachment, will all sign on to H. Res. 799 as co-sponsors to show they have some bite to their bark.
Now, if those four got together, then called on other Reps to co-sign, then confronted Nancy.....

is that that is his stated intention.
Try searching the site or googling around, I just know that that is his next step, I have no idea what the set-up is. Caveat Emptor is never bad advice!

'Fighting Terrorism by Creating It'
The criminals who did the dastardly deeds on 9/11 were properly called 'hijackers' for the criminal offenses they had committed... until Dickie and Georgie changed the rhetoric and scared the sheeple to death by calling the criminals terrorists. The aftermath of a crime often leaves victims feeling 'terrorized' (if not suffering from PTSD, too), but the feeling is the result of criminal acts, not the actual criminal acts themselves for which there are penalties if the criminals survive their acts while perpetrating their crimes.

... is all the groups who advocate impeachment to pool their money and get some ads on TV... Afterdowningstreet.org, codepink, et cetera and so on and so forth.
by NonnyO on Wed Jan 16, 2008 at 04:10:32 PM PDT
someone to spearhead that kind of effort....he has 190,000 signatures by acting as a clearinghouse. And is giving credit to others in the fight.
by buhdydharma on Wed Jan 16, 2008 at 04:24:09 PM PDT
... they can all get in the same room and all talking together for a concentrated effort to get IMPEACHMENT proceedings going....
I don't much care what it takes at this point: TV ads would be good (it would let the lost people who want impeachment know SOMEONE is trying to do something!, phone calls, emails, marches... whatever is necessary.
We KNOW impeachable offsense have taken place; that's public knowledge, and even those are all on Lamestream Media sound bytes, especially the LIES, and the LIES to cover the original LIES, and that doesn't even include the war crimes sanctioned by Dickie and Georgie, nor the unconstitutional and extralegal 'unitary executive' dictatorial power grab....
What else may be uncovered in the discovery process of hearings and a trial where 'executive privilege' can't be claimed...?
I think even Rethuglicans just might be surprised, and it could force some of them to stop drinking the kool-aid cold-turkey (at least if they want to get re-elected)....

i have reason to believe they are, nonny o. how else would wexler know what these groups have done to thank them in his speech. i think it is safe to support this man. he means what he says.

... and they have T-shirts, pass out flyers, have had protest marches against the war in DC, have sent letters and emails, etc., so they are known... but that doesn't necessarily mean Wexler has actually talked with any of them.
I know of Wexler enough to talk about him, for instance, but that doesn't mean I've ever sat down and talked with him.... ;-)

although i could have been part of a meeting earlier this week had i been in dc.
i guess what i was trying to say without coming out and saying it, but i will now - i know people who are working alongside him. it is very much a collaborataive process. victoria2dc from dkos is in touch with one of his staffers and there are people throughout the country who are also working in tandem. the fact that it is a more centrist dem working with progressives is an impressive strength.
