Comments: Expand Shrink Hide (Always) | Indented Flat (Always)
Like I said, this happens fairly often. We usually catch them within a few comments, we do a fix of some sort to block what they're doing, and that's the end of it. Just another kind of troll.
Using firefox with script blockers will help, but the most important thing is to just not click links that go to sites you don't know, and to log out if you think you've been compromised.

Aren't videos under the same site restrictions as still images?
NoScript does prevent autoloading of flash videos; I have to click explicitly to allow them to run. It certainly speeded up my pageloads.

there was a user who's vids have been autoloading first I've seen do that here. If it can be stopped it should be.

the kinds of youtube links you can put in for just that reason -- it has to be a "clean" link. If the filter is still letting stuff through that it shouldn't, let me know.
I don't think we can ban youtube entirely, but it is true that they've got some nasty XSS targeting them.

If I could link to clapping hands and standing ovations, I would do so.... but I'm not linking to anything for a while!

The same user has other autoloading vids, too.

with kos after opening that diary and found 2 trojans on a scan that night. I'm pretty careful so I don't think they came from anywhere else but it would be nice if Hunter or someone could ck this guys stuff out.
Some of the youtube exploits are wierd, one in the past again I think from a youtube posted here just a week or so ago, opened every damn port on my router and I had to do a complete system reset to close them.

I just spent quite awhile rooting around in Firefox looking for such settings. The only thing I found is "Enable Java Script", or not, with a few advanced settings. Nothing with accept or reject according to URL. Are you speaking of a Firefox add-on I likely don't have?
I wouldn't bother you, 'cept I'm probably not the only one not sure exactly what you're recommending. And I've got "intermediate" tech skills (having done stuff like clean Norton System Works out of my register myself) - I'm guessing others could probably use more specifics, too.

NoScript is an add-on. Go to Firefox add-ons and you'll find it.

Had to close all my 13 open tabs to do it. How do I get so that I have so many balls in the air at once anyhow? Terrible for concentration!
Sigh.

I haven't checked, but can I use Firefaox on it? It seems that I could since it is only for the internet connection.

It's an option like "Only use cookies from servers I visit." Actual name depends on browser, but it stops delivery of dkos cookies to other servers. May not prevented XSS attack, but generally safer.
