things. These people still believe in the idea of the democratic republic.
Believing all of those things means that you believe in the basic precepts of democracy. You can be conservative or liberal and still be loyal to democractic traditions.
The saddest thing about this era is that the Republican Party and all of these extreme factions do not believe in democracy - which basically does not make them "conservative" as much as it makes them kinda traitorous to the ideals of this country and the everything it was founded upon.

Yes -- this is a description of being American. I don't know what those other people are, but this is an agenda that should have been sacred; and so ingrained that it feels unreal to be discussing it.
Just like I would bristle at being confused with a Blue Dog Democrat, these guys want no part of this nightmare in the Executive branch.
